CaritaSport will be organising the 3rd edition of the 10K Race for Hope that will take place on the 18th April 2011 in Richmond Park. This race is dedicated to disabled children and the money collected will be used to help these children get access to sports equipment adapted to their special needs.

Last year, 3,500 people took part to the race and raised an incredible £20,000. This year, the challenge is to increase the number of participants to 4,000 and to raise an extra £10,000.

Tips to raise money for charity

When taking part to a sporting event many people would like to take the opportunity to raise money for charity but they haven’t got a clue where to start. This is a shame because with a little bit of method, you could easily raise a decent amount.
So here are a few tips to help you with your next fund raising exercise.

Create a fundraising page online. There are a few sites on the Internet that allow you to create a fundraising page where colleagues, friends and family can support you by making a donation. It also gives you the possibility to select the charities you would like to support.

Spread the word. It is important that you let as many people as possible know that you are raising money for charity. Use your Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn accounts to promote your fundraising page and contact all the members of your network. Don’t forget to ask them to help you spread the word.

Be creative. Create opportunities to raise money. You could for instance organise a charity dinner with your friends or a charity car wash. Raising money in groups can also be a good idea.

Ask around you. Seek advice among the people you know as they may have raised money for charity before and may have tips of their own they can share with you.

CaritaSport supports Give2Japan

After the tragedy of the Tsunami that took place in Japan on the 11 March 2011 leaving thousands of people without a roof, CaritaSport has decided to launch a campaign to raise money to support Give2Japan.

Give2Japan is a UK charity that was created just after the terrible events and that collects funds and goods for the Japanese population in great difficulty in devasted areas.

CaritaSport will be charging their customers a solidarity fee of an extra £1 over a perios of a month (on a voluntary basis). All the money collected will then be given to Give2Japan.
